What are the Softest Materials Used at Gardner Mattress?

For some people, a firm mattress just doesn’t do it for them. There are people out there who desire mattresses that are made with materials that are as soft as a cloud. At Gardner Mattress, we create mattresses that balance softness with support so you get a good night’s sleep. Here are the softest materials we use so you can find the mattress of your dreams.

Cotton Batting

Cotton batting and organic cotton batting are both incredibly soft, chemical-free, and environmentally friendly. They’re a perfectly plush material, letting you sink into the mattress. However, it still provides the support your body needs to sleep well and wake up feeling refreshed. The plushness of these cotton batting options also makes them breathable, which allows for superior temperature control. The comfort layer of our Organic Vegan Mattress is solely made up of organic cotton batting, so you can live a green life without sacrificing softness.

CertiPUR-US Polyurethane Foam

CertiPUR-US polyurethane foam is an incredibly soft and supportive synthetic material for your mattress. Making up the top layer of every mattress in our Traditional Collection, it’s been providing a comfort layer to sleepers for years. This foam is made without formaldehyde, mercury, lead, or heavy metals.

New Zealand Wool

Have you ever looked at a sheep and dreamed about falling asleep on one? Well, we can’t say the sheep would let you, but a mattress made with New Zealand wool is the next best thing. While it’s a soft material, it’s naturally strong. It also holds its shape, so it won’t get compressed or develop lumps as easily as other materials. This means that the organic mattresses in the Natural Sleep Collection that use it (which is every mattress except for the Organic Vegan Mattress) will hold up for a long time, providing you with a soft, deep sleep for a decade.

Natural Talalay Latex

If you want an organic, vegan material with a consistency similar to memory foam, natural talalay latex is the way to go. This strong, durable, natural fiber is allergen-free as well as soft, so you’ll sleep well with minimal motion transfer. As a bonus, this material has natural cooling properties that are good for hot sleepers and removes static electricity. It’s such a great material that it’s featured in some of the softest mattresses in both the Natural Sleep and Traditional Collections. In fact, it’s the primary material of the Organic Harmony Mattress, acting as both the foundation and the comfort layers.

Soft mattresses may not be for everyone, but one could be right for you. You can come to a Gardner Mattress showroom and test our mattresses for yourself to determine if our soft, plush options are right for your sleep position and needs.
